Urban Strategies New Associates 2010
Congratulations to three rising Urban Strategists!

Mary Castel

Our Marketing Manager since 2005, Mary has been made an Associate in recognition of her work leading Urban Strategies' business development and promotion activities. Mary expertly manages our proposal response process and media relations strategy. Recently she has been developing a toolkit for incorporating Web 2.0 technologies into our public consultation and client communication practices. We wish Mary the best on her maternity leave. Bryan Bowen

Bryan joined us in 2005 as a planner, and has been made an Associate. His expertise in complex transit-oriented development and secondary plan projects has kept us on the forefront of planning and urban issues. He is currently involved in the Central Corridor Development Strategy for a new 11-mile LRT corridor connecting Downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis, winner of multiple awards. Bryan was also recently involved in a large-scale waterfront redevelopment project in Ireland, and continues to play a key role in the firm's ongoing planning policy and growth management work for the City of London, Ontario.

Laurie Payne

Laurie, an Associate since 2007, has been promoted to Senior Associate in recognition of her leadership in the field of planning in North America and the UK. An experienced facilitator, Laurie is working with Toronto Community Housing on the revitalization of Toronto's Alexandra Park community. She has played a key role in implementing Toronto's waterfront revitalization, including two successful developer proposal calls for the East Bayfront community, a pilot LEED Gold Neighbourhood.
