Urban Planning for the Mentally Ill

June 23

When the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) decided that its Queen Street site, in a residential neighbourhood west of downtown Toronto, would be the hub for the new organization, they retained Urban Strategies Inc. to provide strategic planning advice and communication services. Urban Strategies was also selected to develop a vision and master plan for the site. The principles comprising the vision for the master plan are based on three objectives: create a client-centred hub for interaction and collaboration; design an urban village integrated with the surrounding city; and respect the landscape with its healthy green spaces.
