CLIENT Cornell Development Corporation (1996), Town of Markham (2002)

Cornell is a “new urbanist” community planned for 28,000 people, now being developed in the Toronto suburb of Markham.  Urban Strategies developed the Open Space Master Plan for the community.  The Plan integrates parkland, schools, places of worship, stormwater management facilities and sensitive areas to define neighbourhoods and link the community to the Rouge River valley.  In 2002, Markham retained Urban Strategies to review and update both the Community Structure and Open Space Plans.
