Urban Strategies prepared streetscape master plans for five of Downtown Hamilton’s primary streets, an initiative that flowed from the firm’s Downtown Design Strategy. The goal is to enhance the safety, pedestrian amenity and civic image of Downtown and strengthen linkages to the Waterfront, the Niagara Escarpment and adjacent neighbourhoods. Consultation established a vision and specific principles, and an action plan identifies key projects and priority areas, coordinated with the City’s budget.
