ONTARIO URBAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS STUDY
DATE 2000
CLIENT Government of Ontario
Urban Strategies was selected to identify and assess financial, organizational and district-based economic development levers used in American urban areas that compete with Ontario’s seven largest urban centred regional economies and identify how some of these tools could be adapted for use in Ontario. The key objective of the study was to explore innovative options that would help Ontario cities to regenerate older employment areas, revitalize downtowns, protect heritage, revitalize waterfronts and lever investments.
