Brooklyn Bridge Park, to be developed on 65 acres of former port lands, will be a major addition to New York’s parks system and a catalyst for further revitalization. Urban Strategies®, with landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburg and finance and policy consultants HR&A, prepared the site’s master plan. Community consultation was critical to the plan’s success. The plan links re-naturalized habitats, passive areas, playfields and places for intense cultural activities, and is entering implementation.
