As an urban designer, Rei seeks to reflect the history and culture of a place in her work, much of which focuses on regenerating brownfield sites in London’s Docklands. Before joining Urban Strategies, she worked as an intern architect in Toronto, Chicago and, most recently, Tokyo. There, she worked on a range of architectural and urban-scale projects. Her masters thesis explored how architecture could revitalize Tokyo’s neglected riverside spaces, recalling the theatricality that once enlivened the city.
