Urban Strategies was proud to attend the ground breaking ceremony of CIBC Square, which was known as Bay Park Centre until the announcement of its new name this morning by CIBC President and CEO Victor Dodig.
Urban Strategies is currently involved in finalizing the Site Plan Approval for the 81 Bay site, and recently helped Ivanhoé Cambridge and Hines secure the rezoning approvals for 141 Bay Street. 141 Bay Street will form the second phase of CIBC Square, which will deliver a second major office tower at the north side of the elevated park. CIBC will be the anchor tenant for both phases of the project.
Under the direction of Frank Lewinberg, Urban Strategies has provided master planning and development approvals services to Ivanhoé Cambridge since they initially purchased the site in 2007. Urban Strategies first undertook a series of due diligence analyses for various components of the property; Urban Strategies worked closely with Ivanhoé Cambridge and Metrolinx to develop the complex mix of program on site, including coordinating with all levels of government to secure support and to coordinate the project, and assisted the architecture team with master planning and technical studies to refine the initial development options. Urban Strategies also coordinated the approvals process for the first phase of development, zoning approvals for 45 Bay (now 81 Bay).
