5 Years of Pie

Every year Urban Strategies celebrates National Pie Day (Jan 23, or 1-2-3) with a pie contest. Conceived and entirely run by Associate Habon Ali, we award prizes in various pie-related categories including Best Homemade, Best Store-Bought, and People’s Choice. Judges weigh factors such as “most like Grandma’s”, “best crust” and “presentation”.

2017 Official Judging Panel

2017 marks our 5th year of this tradition!

We are an organization that socializes together (a lot!), and for some reason, this event has really struck a chord with our team. It is – far and away – the most popular and eagerly awaited event of the year. Perhaps it is is the thrill of the competition, the challenge of judging, or the fun of getting our hands messy in a crafty, sculptural activity. Most likely, though, it is simply delicious, and, for all these reasons, has become our beloved tradition.
