The Humbertown Shopping Centre Redevelopment Master Plan has unanimously been agreed upon by the Humber Valley Residents Association, the City and our client, First Capital Realty Ltd, via a five-day mediation before the Ontario Municipal Board.

The Toronto Star and Globe and Mail have reported on this.On December 16, Toronto City Council approved the mediated proposal. Next, the plan will have a final review by the Ontario Municipal Board.

Our master plan – developed with LGA Architectural Partners – aims to transform a traditional auto-oriented shopping plaza into a vibrant mixed-use community.  The concept retains and expands the existing retail offerings, introduces a variety of market residences, a day care, fitness centre, financial services, offices, restaurants, and a series of significant new public spaces at the heart of the development and along its edges. An attractive and accessible public realm based on a block pattern that connects with the existing street network, pedestrian walkway, outdoor eating areas, and pleasurable walking and cycling environment offer the Humber community a variety of experiences and range of uses.
