Colton is a Registered Professional Planner with a reputation for successfully completing challenging planning projects. He has over 17 years of experience including 10 years of supervisory and team lead roles. Colton was recently the senior manager of Affordable Housing Project Development at the City of Edmonton, where he led all aspects of an integrated multidisciplinary housing development and approvals team. Colton prepared the City’s Rapid Housing Initiative submissions and secured $49.3M in funding from the CMHC for expanding the City’s affordable housing portfolio by 348 units. Colton has significant public and private sector experience in municipal planning, with a focus on public engagement, project scoping, project management and rezoning and development approvals. Colton frequently presents at city council and in the community. He is part of the CMHC Planning Advisory Committee and CIP Planning Awards jury. He is based in Urban Strategies’ Vancouver office.
