Hasmig is an Urban Designer and Urban Planner with a background in land use development, policy analysis and master planning. She completed her Master of Urban Design at the University of British Columbia and her Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning at the University of Waterloo. She is currently working with both public and private sector clients on multi-disciplinary teams, on a broad range of projects including large scale master plans, OPA reports, and feasability studies. She has contributed to numerous projects around the world, including in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Urban Strategies, Hasmig has worked in both private and public sectors in the fields of urban planning and architecture. She worked on Vancouver’s North East Rezoning Development Application Plan where she was a part of all phases of the project from site analysis, to preliminary design and final deliverable graphics such as renderings. As part of the Route and System team with the Toronto Transit Commisson, she supported the service design team and forecasting required to maximize mobility, such as calculating service forecasts for the Yonge North Subway Extension. Her interests include urban landscapes and public realm, adaptive reuse of heritage buildings and exploration of craftsmanship in architecture. She is based in Urban Strategies’ Vancouver office.
