Urban Planner

Konain is an Urban Planner with a multidisciplinary background in policy, research, stakeholder engagement, and spatial analysis. She completed her graduate studies at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning with research focused on homeless encampments and a human rights-based approach to housing.

Across the public, private and non-profit sectors, Konain’s professional experience focuses on the intersections of land use planning, housing affordability, community engagement, and creating equitable communities. At Urban Strategies, Konain contributes to several large-scale development projects in the Toronto Area including the Fairview Plan Redevelopment, 2280 Dundas St W, 18 Elm St, 288 Bloor St W, and the Scarborough Town Centre Master Plan and Approvals. These projects intensify under-utilized sites, provide a range of housing options and mixed uses, and improve connections with the surrounding built environment.
