18 Yorkville Avenue

2003

Toronto, Canada

18 Yorkville Avenue is a distinctive mixed-use development consisting of a seven story podium anchoring a 36 storey residential tower with retail at grade on the Yonge Street frontage. This luxurious building was one of the first new residential buildings built Toronto’s Yorkville area after many years of inactivity, bringing a new residential population with its vibrancy and activity. In addition to the slender and elegant condominium building, the development created an urban park adjacent to the historic Yorkville Library and Fire Hall. It has become known as one of the most successful urban revitalization projects in Toronto’s downtown.
Urban Strategies was responsible for final approval negotiations with residents of the area, together with the developers of the project. We also successfully defended the required zoning amendments at the Ontario Municipal Board.
