Urban Strategies has been retained by DCMS Realty Developments Inc. (DCMS Realty) to act as planning and urban design consultants for the submission of a planning application to redevelop 3411 and 3429 Bloor Street West in the Etobicoke Centre. DCMS Realty plans to redevelop this site as a seniors retirement residence operated by Verve Seniors Living. The retirement home will provide a continuum of care for residents, including memory care, assisted living, and independent living suites to suit the various needs of the residents. The proposed development includes a Beer Store at grade. DCMS Realty appealed the OPA/ZBA to the LPAT, and Urban Strategies provided professional planning and urban design evidence at the LPAT in September 2019. In May 2019, the LPAT approved the applications.
Urban Strategies is also working with DCMS Realty Developments Inc. to provide ongoing strategic advice and planning and development advice for other retirement home developments in the Toronto area including 2494 Danforth Avenue and 462 Wellington Street West.
