The Downsview Secondary Plan has been honoured with a 2025 OPPI PlanON Award of Excellence. On behalf of the landowners Canada Lands and Northcrest, Urban Strategies worked closely with City of Toronto Staff to develop an ambitious planning framework to guide the transformation of over 540 hectares of land over several decades. The Plan focuses on laying a groundwork for sustainable, resilient and equitable communities to develop over time. The Secondary Plan, based on the award-winning foundational Framework Plan, is a testament to the positive outcomes that can be achieved when public and private sectors work together to achieve shared goals.
