Hamilton Collaborative Sessions on Thoughtful Growth
When Urban Strategies opened its Collaborative Studio in Hamilton at 66 James Street North in the fall of 2019, we envisioned it not only as an opportunity to continue our work in Hamilton. Our studio space, a former art gallery, provides exciting ways for our team to contribute to the city-building conversations going on in Hamilton in a more community-facing way.
Our first session was held in February 2020, at our Collaborative Studio, bringing together city-builders from diverse disciplines in Hamilton to help prioritize discussion topics for future Collaborative Sessions workshops. Read more about this series on the Collaborative Sessions website.
When COVID-19 changed the way we work, we pivoted to an online format, with series of weekly virtual meetings in April and May. These focused on key issues, challenges and solutions in response to COVID19 and what it means for communities, businesses, culture and civic society in Hamilton. The intent for these sessions is to generate tangible ideas – in various forms – that can be shared publicly to continue these dialogues within and across the broader communities of Hamilton.
