We are delighted to share the news that Strategist Jamilla Mohamud has received the 2022 President’s Award: Young Planner from the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Congratulations to the 2022 President’s Award: Young Planner recipient Jamilla Mohamud! Jamilla is an urban planner who has dedicated herself to improving the well-being of communities and their residents. She is a founding member of the Black Planners and Urbanists Association (BPUA) and represents the BPUA on the OPPI Anti-Black Racism in Planning Task Force. As issues of racism, colonialism and equity broaden the priorities of planners, Jamilla will be among the leaders redefining what it means to create inclusive, healthy communities. Read more.
