Safaa Alnabelseya

Safaa is an Urban Designer with a multidisciplinary background in architecture, landscape architecture, and bio-integrated design. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Waterloo and a bio-integrated design certificate from the Bartlett at University College London. Safaa has several years of experience in design and architecture offices in North America and Europe, working on a range of public projects including community centres, daycares, and affordable housing developments as well as private residential projects such as laneway housing, custom single-family homes, and landscape design and construction. While working freelance as a landscape designer, Safaa developed a passion for native plants and the mindful design of outdoor public space. Safaa is motivated to practice reciprocal ecological relationships while conscientiously contributing to the living world and believes in her responsibility to advocate for underrepresented voices, both human and non-human, while creating spaces of harmony and mindfulness.

At Urban Strategies, Safaa is contributing to mixed-use urban development projects in the GTA as well as various development approval applications throughout the city including the SickKids Hospital.
