The position of urban designer requires a professional accredited degree in architecture, landscape architecture, and/or urban design. Professional qualifications with the OAA or OALA are not necessary but encouraged.

Urban Strategies has a proud history of welcoming students to join us for urban design and planning internships. We believe that professional placements are an important complement to formal education. Urban Strategies interns can expect hands-on learning opportunities from day one, and will participate in everything from proposal development to conceptual design. We integrate students into project teams to expose them to all facets of an assignment and prepare them for the real world of city planning and urban design. Students tell us that they gain valuable experience and form lasting friendships. Many of our interns return for repeat terms with us and even for full time positions after graduation.
