Jane Finch Mall Planning & Engagement Process (jfm+) has been honoured with awards from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (2024), Canadian Institute of Planners (2025) and, most recently, the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Core Values Award (2025). These awards recognize the project’s exceptional community engagement process, which included input from over 2,000 residents and 35 organizations over two and a half years. Historically excluded voices were heard, and community benefits were prioritized from the start. The CIP jury specifically recognized how the private developer-led initiative redefined what was possible for a development that is an important community hub.
