Yiwen is an urban designer with 15 years of experience in Europe, Asia and North America. Trained as architect, she uses a systematic approach to understand urban complexity. She works with multi-disciplinary teams on a broad range of urban projects, including waterfront development, brownfield redevelopment, heritage preservation, recreational urban district planning, regional tourism planning, new town development planning and campus planning. Yiwen has played a key role as Urban Designer on large scale community master plans in Asia, urban design analysis for high-rise buildings in downtown Toronto. She was project manager on a 97ha public housing community master plan in Singapore, Bidadari Estates. In 2015, Yiwen project managed the campus master plan for Brock University exploring the potential development framework and for the university. Since 2016, Yiwen worked on the 2018 Campus Master Plan for Princeton University which was recently adopted by the university. Yiwen has also been helping expanding Urban Strategy’s presence in Asian market, especially in mainland China. She is currently working on a Historical Downtown Revitalization Plan for Ningbo - a major port city in Yangtze Delta Region. In early 2018, Yiwen was selected as a member of the Design Review Panel for Toronto Community Housing.
