Canary Wharf
1988-1991
London, England
Canary Wharf is the largest redevelopment project in Europe. In 1988, Urban strategies was retained to assist on a number of urban design and planning aspects, including the management of an international urban design competition for the site’s Thames frontage and west ferry circus area. We also prepared a comprehensive plan for the integration of Canary Wharf and the adjacent docklands development with the surrounding city. Aiming to improve access routes, open space connections and land use compatibility, we recommended a program of strategic land acquisition and community improvement projects.
