Don Valley ReConnects

Toronto, Ontario 2022 - Present

Don Valley ReConnects Rendering.

The Don Valley ReConnects project seeks to repurpose the Flemingdon Park Golf Club, a privately-owned 9-hole golf course located at 155 St. Dennis Drive, within 300 metres of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Wynford Stop, and donate 95% of the land (equivalent to approximately 40 acres) as open space for public use. This once in-a-generation public land contribution provides an opportunity to enable the ecological restoration and stewardship of the Don River and Valley, extend the Don Valley trail network, and create new recreational, cultural, educational, and Indigenous place keeping opportunities.

To the north of the proposed open space, the Proposed Development introduces a set of four residential buildings surrounded by an enhanced landscape and linked by a porous base building containing a cultural programming space. The residential development has been situated on a distinct and stable paleo terrace landform adjacent to St. Dennis Drive that has been demonstrated to be free of risk from flood, erosion, or slope instability through extensive technical analysis.
