Boston Fan Pier

Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Urban Strategies was retained by the Pritzker family and Hyatt Development Corporation to prepare a master plan for Fan Pier, 21 acres of former port lands in Boston’s South Seaport District. Working with a diverse team of consultants, our master plan sought to create a vibrant neighborhood by accommodating the developer’s demanding space requirements in a series of urbane, mixed-use buildings, situated on a fine-grained street network. Following a successful approval for the $2 Billion development, the Institute of Contemporary Art was opened in 2006. Phase 2, a 1 Million sf headquarters building and attendant public realm, is now under construction.
