Stewardship, sustainability and resilience are at the core of Urban Strategies’ urban design and master planning projects. We strive to connect our work to key issues. We know planning and design have meaningful impacts on critical issues such as equity, climate change, and economic development. We embrace the responsibility that comes with our profession and are committed to addressing these issues directly through our work. Good planning and urban design are by definition sustainable: connected to the needs of the planet and involving shared systems and multipurpose solutions that make for intriguing and dynamic settings while actively conserving resources and creating resilience for the future. As a practice and an organization, we emphasize greenhouse gas reduction through active transportation and transit. We have an active Sustainability and Resilience Committee that ensures we bring a strong familiarity with the full range of certification systems including LEED, WELL Building, Living Building and One Planet Living.
